"Bobby A" is a professional drummer/educator in the NY Capital Region. Playing drums since he was 10 years old, he has over 20 years of experience behind a kit. Adept in most contemporary genres of music, Bobby is as comfortable playing jazz, funk, rock, and R&B as he is playing a polka or tarantella. He believes "diversity" is key.

He teaches private drum lessons at Rocky's Music Studio (www.rockysmusicstudio.com) in North Greenbush. As the drummer for the dance/party band The Accents, Bobby maintains an active gig schedule.

"Bobby A" attended the New School Jazz and Contemporary Music Program in NYC and studied with Chico Hamilton, Horacee Arnold, and Bobby Sanabria. He has also studied with Ed Shaughnessy, Jim Chapin, Michael Carvin, Shawn Pelton, and Russ Miller.

Influenced by the legends like Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Tony Williams, Philly Joe Jones, Elvin Jones, Steve Gadd, and more contemporary players like Keith Carlock, Brian Blade, Jo Jo Mayer, Steve Smith and Cindy Blackman, Bobby emulates his heroes but also brings his own spicey and flavorful personality to his drumming. His main objective when drumming is to make everything "feel good." Supporting the music and other artists while making the audience move is the ultimate aspiration of his style.

Although he is best known in the rock idiom for his with work with the bands Sosohuman, Seven Wiser and Fallzone, "Bobby A's" passion is the American art form known as Jazz; especially the wonderful world of drumming that the genre encompasses.
