Matt Niedbalski is a jazz drummer originally from Gansevoort, NY. Matt was fortunate enough to begin a foundation in jazz with Albany area drummer, Ted Mackenzie. Matt has played with many great musicians in the Capital District including Tony Jenkins, Keith Pray, John Nazarenko, Charles Cornell and Nate Giroux. Venues he as performed at include Speakeasy 518, Wallabee’s Jazz Bar, One Caroline Street, the Final Stretch Music Festival in Saratoga Springs and the Lake George Jazz Festival. He has also performed at various venues in and around NYC including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Joe’s Pub and the Harlem Tavern. Matt received a B.M. in Jazz Performance at William Paterson University. There he was able to work with the late Mulgrew Miller, Steve LaSpina, Marcus McLaurine, Harold Mabern, Bill Mobley, John Mosca, Kevin Norton and Christian McBride. He maintains an active performance and teaching schedule between New York and New Jersey.
