Nancy Donnelly grew up in Kingston, NY and her love for music was inspired by her family who appreciated and enjoyed such a wide array musical styles. Her older siblings listened to the Beatles, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, while at the same her mom played hours of Gilbert and Sullivan, Puccini and the original Broadway cast recording of "Mame". Her mom also played the piano.

Nancy began training as a classical vocalist at a young age. Upon graduating form the “Crane School of Music”, Nancy moved to Boston to further pursue her musical studies at the Boston Conservatory of Music.

While in Boston, she had the opportunity to work with several Blues, and R&B groups. It was in Boston that Nancy realized her true passion for jazz when she had the opportunity to perform with Russian saxophonist Igor Butman. She then studied jazz theory and improvisation with saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi and continued to study and further develop her vocal stylings with vocal instructor David Testa.

Nancy has sung in many world famous jazz clubs, such as the Blue Note, The Village Gate, The Iridium, Birdland, and Ryles. She has had the pleasure of performing with many world class jazz artist’s such as Peggy Stern, Harvie S, Mike Clark, Bob Moses, Roswell Rudd, Mike DeMicco to name a few.

Currently living in the Hudson Valley, Nancy has released her debut CD, A Greater Love. This recording is a combination of originals, standards, and lesser known entries, beautifully arranged and accompanied by pianist Peggy Stern, bassist Jay Anderson, drummer Matt Wilson.
