The New York Jazz Trio plays Be-Bop jazz tunes made famous by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins and Wayne Shorter. We also play original compositions.

EDUCATION:
M.S., Management - State University of New York at Oswego
B.A., Business Administration - St. Bonaventure University

MUSIC:
Professional saxophonist for fifteen years. Presently playing at Savannah's every month. Trio was previously the house band at the famous Van Dyck jazz club before it closed. Played in four jazz groups in Syracuse, New York: Bernie Upson Trio (Bernie was a bassist for Illinois Jacquet), John Betsy Quintet, Chris Jones Quintet (Chris is Philly Joe Jones' son and is also a drummer) and Mike Fox Quartet (Mike was a drummer for Illinois Jacquet). Studied saxophone in Syracuse, New York with Rocco Barbato, Joe Carello and Terrance Bruce (saxophonist with Cabo Frio), and in New York City with Charles Davis, Ron Blake, Eric Alexander and currently with Ralph Lalama; attended Jimmy Heath and Joe Lovano saxophone workshops in New York City. Proficient on piano; composes original tunes.


SARAH LEWIS BELCHER, ESQ.

EDUCATION:
J.D. - Syracuse University College of Law (valedictorian)
M.S., Environmental Science - State University of New York College of Environmental Science & Forestry
B.A., Environmental Studies - Middlebury College (summa cum laude, phi beta kappa)

MUSIC:
Bassist for eleven years. Studied bass locally in Syracuse, New York with Bernie Upson, in New York City at the Jazzmobile and with Mickey Bass and Charles Fambrough; currently studying with Ron Carter. Attended Ron Carter, Richard Davis, Eddie Gomez, Christian McBride and John Pattitucci bass workshops in New York City. Proficient on piano.
