Shaun McCarthy guitar shaun42484@yahoo.com Shaun McCarthy has been playing guitar since high school, where he was first introduced to jazz though his guitar teacher. Soon after beginning to play, he decided to pursue music more seriously which led him to study music at Schenectady County Community College. He holds an associates degree in music performance from SCCC, and is currently enrolled in the music education program at The College of Saint Rose. Shaun has studied with Jack Fragomeni, Cary Denigras, and Rob Cohen among many others. He has performed in many capital distract bars, clubs, and restaurants with the Shaun McCarthy / Mike Lawrence duo/trio, and the Nick Venti quartet. Shaun has also performed with the SCCC guitar ensemble and the SCCC big band. Highlights include performances at the Williams College Jazz Fest, and as a featured soloist with internationally acclaimed bassist Rufus Reid. |
