Jazz/Latino, Inc. is a recently established New York-based non-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion of jazz and Latin jazz that seeks to enrich the cultural environment of the New York State capital region through concerts, lectures, conferences, forums, and clinics. These activities will highlight the contribution of Latinos to Jazz as well as the tradition and style of Latin Jazz in the United States.

Upcoming performances:

Sunday 5/5 - Ben Lapidus and Herencia Judía (Jewish Heritage) @ SUNY Albany's Performing Arts Center (8pm)

Come and celebrate Cinco de Mayo in a way you have never done before: listening to an Afro Latin rendition of Jewish liturgical songs. This concert truly lives up to the standards of quality experimentation and innovation that define Jazz.

Saturday 5/25 - Wilson "Chembo" Corniel's Afro Blue Monk @ Union College's Emerson Auditorium (8pm)

In this concert, Chembo Corniel pays tribute to Thelonius Monk and Mongo Santamaria, two pioneers that helped shape the music of their respective genres, Jazz and Latin Jazz respectively. The concert will include versions of Monk and Santamaria classics along with original compositions that reflect the influence of these two musical giants.
